Take a look at the hints below for guidance!

HINT 01

There are two pieces of evidence containing similar symbols: a lock and a key and you’ll need to use them in combination to decrypt the message. i.e. You’ll need to work out the key in order to decrypt the lock.

HINT 02

The key code found in Guy’s workstation drawer is a sentence that contains all of the letters in the English alphabet.

HINT 03

The keycode has something to do with that cartoon picture next to the lock on the back of the envelope addressed to Guy.

HINT 04

“Say what you see”…there’s a dog and a fox…can you match any of these words to a word with the same number of letters found on the decrypter? Are there any other words associated with the cartoon that you can use to decrypt it?

HINT 05

Another piece of printed evidence conveniently offers you the answer to the decrypter.

HINT 06

Someone is updating their website and using a pangram to show off the new fonts. Use it!

HINT 07 – Spoiler alert! – This clue gives you the key to the decrypter.

The decrypter is based on a famous Pangram (a sentence using every letter of the English alphabet). Declan has a poetry blog where he’s testing out new fonts – Pangrams are often used as a way of displaying fonts. This conveniently offers the answer to the decrypter. So the key (in Guy’s workstation drawer) translates to: “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”. Use this to translate the coded message found in the envelope addressed to Guy.

Answer – The translated message

The translated message of the letter inside of the envelope:

FRIDAY NIGHT, AFTER YOU’RE DONE, MEET ME AT THE GREEN LION, AS USUAL. TOGETHER WE CAN HIDE AWAY!
