Take a look at the hints below for guidance!
HINT 01
We completed Part One, assuming that Rachel was the prime suspect in this case. George St John has since gone away and gathered more evidence for us. Can you find an alibi for Rachel in the new evidence? There is a clue in the anonymous letter sent to Percy in Part two.
HINT 02
The letter makes reference to a photograph; it also says, “Take some time to *reflect* upon it. Have a look at the photograph provided in the Part Two envelope.
HINT 03
The picture of an unusual clock on a wall has a reflection in it. It looks like Rachel! How can we be sure it is Rachel? Take a look at the reverse of the photograph.
HINT 04
It says “Lost in Time – Test Shot”. Where else have you seen this mentioned? Take a look at the Rachel Wiseman interview online.
HINT 05
In Rachel’s interview, Rachel says “I suddenly felt so alone, and decided it was best to move on, despite being halfway through a project called ‘Lost in Time’.” Can you establish the time and date this picture was taken?
HINT 06
There is a banner in the picture that says “CHRISTMAS LECTURE GUEST SPEAKER: DR.WILKINS ‘TODAY’” When is ‘today’? There is another piece of evidence from Part One that will provide you with the details. See the New York Star & Globe dated Thursday 2 December 1965.
HINT 07
In the article ‘Greenwich Observatory Announce Christmas Lecturer’, we are provided with details about a lecture that match the details found on the banner. This lecture is taking place in Greenwich. Where is Greenwich in relation to Market Hill? See the Map from Part One.
HINT 08
The map shows Greenwich over the other side of London, southeast of Market Hill, where the murder took place. The clock does not conform to a traditional clock, there are many more numbers on the clock face. Can you identify the time this was taken?
Answer
The clock is a very unique clock called the ‘Shepherd’s Gate Clock’. It has 24 hours on its clock face in Roman Numerals rather than the traditional 12. The small hand is almost pointing to ‘VI’, and the large hand is pointing towards ‘45’. The time is 5:45 am. Rachel was at the Greenwich Observatory at the time of the murder and, therefore, has a strong alibi.
