Take a look at the hints below for guidance.

Hint 1

Whitney’s mother was Holly Rose, Boone’s former assistant who tragically died on stage during a botched magic trick in 1998. Aside from taking away her mother, the incident also cast a shadow over Whitney’s own career as a stage magician which she was struggling to overcome. Killing Boone could both avenge Whitney’s mother and help her career blossom. What were Whitney’s movements on the day of the murder?

Check Abigail’s police statement.

Boone and Whitney had agreed to meet at 10:00 am in his dressing room, before Boone’s magic show began. Mauga later overheard someone in Boone’s dressing room shout “You’re the reason she died. You killed her!” around 11:00 am. Is there anything suspicious in Mauga’s or Abigail’s statements?

Abigail saw Whitney with a green paper package, but Whitney had deposited it somewhere before meeting with Boone. What could this package be, and where did it end up? Follow the hints for Exploring The Magicians’ Lodge Website (Online Content) before proceeding any further with these hints.

The green paper of the bribe note found on Mauga in the police report matches Abigail’s description of the package. Whitney was behind the bribe, instructing Mauga to leave the backstage area around the time Boone was murdered, so there would be clear access to the catwalks Boone was to pass through during his vanishing act.

It seems that Whitney had a motive to kill Boone, and also arranged an opportunity to do so without any witnesses. But there may be more information about Whitney in her email inbox.

In Whitney’s email inbox, the transcript of her conversation with Boone indicates Whitney left Boone’s dressing room around 10:05 am, so the shouting Mauga heard wasn’t from Whitney and Boone’s meeting. What other information can you find in her emails?
