Take a look at the hints below for guidance!

HINT 01

Who is Tony Harbor and how could he be linked with the killing of Randall Tomlinson? Read Bert Greene’s Police Interview.

HINT 02

Bert Greene makes reference to an American called Harbor who works in shipping. What’s interesting is that Greene suggests that Randall could have been blackmailing Harbor. Is this ‘Harbor’ guy, Tony Harbor. We need to find some more relevant evidence. Have you managed to read the evidence online?

HINT 03

Have you managed to gain access to the online evidence? If not, do so now. If you are struggling to access the online evidence, follow the Hints trail labelled “Accessing the online evidence found on the Iocus drive’. Once you have read the evidence online, you may move on to Hint 04.

HINT 04

Pay attention to the transcript of questions with Millie French, Tony Harbor’s ex-girlfriend. She mentions a bundle of cash being dropped round to a “basement flat”. She goes on to say “…it was a present for one of his American friends”. This information is ringing alarm bells with another piece of evidence. Read Margaret Hessler’s interview.

HINT 05

Margaret Hessler also claims to have seen a bundle of cash in Randall’s flat. Could this be the same bundle of cash that Millie mentions?…Margaret did say the envelope didn’t have a postage mark on it! Both pieces of this evidence support the theory that Randall may have been blackmailing Tony Harbor. We need to establish where Tony was at the time of Randall’s death. Take a look at Tony’s business card that Millie French mentions.

HINT 06

Take note of Tony’s position at PGE. He is the European Manager. Where else have we seen his job title mentioned? Read the ICFI Report found online.
(if you do not want to proceed with the answer to this just yet, then we advise you to work on the alibis for the other suspects before revealing your answer below)

Answer

The PanGlobal Exports report states that “…two sessions were held, the first on Friday December 10 1965, after which the committee reconvened after the weekend. These sessions were held at the COC office in Washington”. The murder took place on the 13th of December, when the committee reconvened.

The report also tells us that “Present to give evidence at these sessions were…., and all managers of all overseas offices”. Later on in the report it says – “The European PGE office, based in London…the European Manager, told the committee….”. The European Manager was present, giving evidence. Tony was the European Manager; we know this from his business card. Tony was at the meeting when the murder took place and, therefore, has an alibi.
