HINT 01

The numbers 59200/2 appear many times throughout the AIA Telex’s. It appears that this sequence of numbers refers to an ‘Agent’. See the Telex dated NOV 23, 1965. “Agent X informed us that the individual leaking our secret intelligence to the enemy is 59200/2.Turn your attention to the ‘Spies of London’ torn page.

HINT 02

On page 87, we are given details as to what these sequences of numbers are. “(aka “59200/3” – it is believed that the first five digits were assigned to all American spies working in the Market Hill area. The last digit would distinguish the individual).” This is confirmation that we are dealing with an American spy using the number 59200/2. We need to identify who this Agent is. Read the AIA Telex SENT NOV 23, 1965.

HINT 03

This sounds familiar – “According to Agent X, he meets 59200/2 at a station on the London Underground, where 59200/2 provides the information rolled up in fake cigarettes. Agent X would ask him for a spare cigarette, to which 59200/2 would kindly oblige.” Go and refresh your memory on the Station Staff Witness Reports from Part 1, this passing of cigarettes sounds familiar!

Answer

Station Staff would often see the murder victim (Randall) at Market Hill Station engaging with another man – “There’s only one other guy who sometimes catches that train, but not every day, once a fortnight I’d say. He always asked the victim for a cigarette whenever he saw him, and the victim was always happy to share.”

The victim (Randall) is the one passing information rolled up in fake cigarettes to Agent X. Randall is a spy, he is 59200/2 and leaking US intelligence to the KGB via Agent X!

If you have not completed the hints trail for identifying Agent X, we would advise you to do so now.
