Still totally stuck? Here’s the answer
ANSWER
Yes! The tweet chain shows a “Chris T. Hendrie”, a murder mystery writer, at a convention in Glasgow over the weekend. “Chris T. Hendrie” is Joshua’s pseudonym: “Chris T.” from Agatha Christie, his favourite author, and “Hendrie” from his mother’s maiden name.
Joshua clearly stood to gain from the death of Stubby – the Publisher’s letter suggested that he could only move forward with publishing his work when Stubby was no longer around to contest it…so it seems a motive is there! That led us to track Joshua’s movements to see if he could feasibly have poisoned the reed.
According to Esther, Joshua arrived to the London house at the same time as Esther on the 13th (Friday evening). From the house, they headed straight for the meal at Rauls, where there were a couple of mentions of the convention Josh said that he was going to. Immediately after the meal, Joshua claims he went on his own way, and this was confirmed by Sue in her statement.
The taxi cab receipt from LAXI Cabs confirms that a journey was taken from outside Rauls at about 8pm (when the meal had finished), and those with an eye for detail will have spotted that the route map on the receipt shows that the taxi headed in the direction of the airport (when compared to the main map document). The social media mentions page shows Chris T Hendrie in the airport shortly after that taxi ride, and it also has Joshua placed in Scotland for the whole weekend following the meal – creating a strong alibi for Joshua before the need for any of the intelligence gathered in part 2 – it can’t have been Joshua that broke into the house over the weekend, because he was in Scotland
